Marine Management Organisation
The Marine Management Organisation (MMO), as England’s marine manager is responsible for 230,000 square kilometres of diverse seas. Our mission is to protect and develop our seas, coasts and communities for the benefit of generations to come. We want to work with stakeholders to restore functioning marine ecosystems, improve the marine environment and ensure it is used wisely for the benefit of the environment, society and the economy. As part of this and based on feedback from our stakeholders we introduced the Habitat Protection Strategy for Studland Bay Marine Conservation Zone. The strategy includes a Voluntary No Anchor Zone introduced to protect the seagrass habitat and the species that it supports.
