A BROKEN down yacht was towed to safety by the Cowes RNLI Lifeboat yesterday (Monday).

The yacht, which anchored at Osborne Bay after suffering engine failure, called the UK Coastguard for help.

As no other vessels in the vicinity volunteered to assist, the lifeboat was despatched to tow the yacht to Cowes.
